Meet Hil

That’s me!

Hi, I’m Hil, and I love the power of storytelling.

No matter the medium, I enjoy solving narrative tetris in order to challenge perspectives and help others share their experiences, ideas, and goals.

From the performing arts to writing and corporate brand strategy, I have spent the last twenty years bringing stories to life. My work has spanned stage, television, publishing, policy, and media—because good storytelling works everywhere.

Today, I craft compelling copy that captures brand voice, drives engagement, and turns browsers into buyers. Whether it’s speechwriting, brand messaging, email marketing, or ad copy, I understand that it’s more than a sale; it’s a story.

What do I do?

Write. Rewrite. Rewrite. Repeat.

I’m a writer and editor of all things with words. I was Editor-in-Chief of the dystopian satire publication and podcast Omnarchy, where I started as a contributing writer in 2018. Now, I specialize in thought leadership for executives and non-profit leaders looking to change their industry for the better.

What do I write?

By day, I craft strategic brand messaging, digital content, and thought leadership for corporations, small businesses, and non-profits. By night, I write screenplays, essays, and satire—because humor is my first love, but neither comedy nor capitalism will love me back.

What do I edit?

Short stories, op-eds, speeches, talking points, pitches, cookbooks, book-books, my parents’ emails, my friends’ breakup texts—ya know, words. If you hate reading your own work, struggle with word counts, or lack a filter, here’s my card….

What Else?

    • The news. My go-to sources are:

      • The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, The BBC, The Guardian, The Economist, and The New Yorker.

    • My friend’s passion projects. We all love to write - often together!

    • Every year, I create a book club for myself to avoid being overwhelmed by choice paralysis. The theme for 2025 is, “Philosophy & Fiction in the 21st Century.” Pretty casual.

    • Stephen King. Always Stephen King.

      • And his son, Joe Hill.

  • TV is my hobby.

    • Some shows I wish I had written:

      • Bad Sisters, Fleabag, Hacks, Poker Face, Shrinking, The Afterparty

    • Some shows I watch on repeat:

      • Brooklyn 99, New Girl, Veep, Friends

    • Some shows that are great:

      • High Potential, AP Bio, The Diplomat, Yellowjackets, The Boys, The Last of Us

    • A show my cat loves:

      • Yellowstone

    • If you aren’t watching Severance, you’re probably an Innie.

…this is hardly an exhaustive list.

    • TV

    • Watching F1 on TV

    • Writing

    • Yoga

    • Biking/adventure vacations

    • Trying to figure out what a hobby is.

  • Mr. Princess.
